IPL auction prediction — Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif has weighed in on a fascinating hypothetical debate among IPL fans: who would fetch the highest bid if Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and Jasprit Bumrah were to be released into an imaginary IPL auction?
Kaif, speaking in an interview, said Jasprit Bumrah would command the biggest price tag. “Among the three, Bumrah would get the most money. A bowler like Bumrah comes once in a generation. The kind of work he does for his team is exceptional,” Kaif said.
He explained that while Virat Kohli’s batting excellence and brand power are immense, Bumrah’s unique skill set gives him the edge. “Virat the batter, maybe you can find others like him, but Virat the brand continues. Still, Bumrah is a far bigger match-winner,” he added.
Kaif also highlighted the business side of the IPL: “Franchises come to do business, not favors. They invest to earn, and Virat’s brand value helps teams commercially.”
Shaun Tait Praises Bumrah’s Skillset
Former Australia pacer Shaun Tait also lauded Bumrah’s all-round bowling ability. “Bumrah can swing, seam, and use variations. His wrist position gives him extra movement. He’s a very skilful bowler with a great bouncer,” Tait told The Indian Express.
